can someone help me?

Sorry the last post was so cryptic, but it was 3 in the morning and I was sleepy as fuck. But somehow as I was crawling onto my sofa I had one of my world famous "what the fuck are you doing j" moments which caused the last post. So I'm okay, I'm not ending the blog, and me and Al are still going to be friends I'm just not focused on making him my boyfriend or looking for one at the moment. I'm 19, I should be having fun, I have the rest of my life to be tied down. So that's where I am right now.

But can someone help me? How can I backup my blog. I have this weird feeling that somehow my blog is gonna be shut down or I'll lose all the posts, but I don't want that to happen. Any suggestions.

Blogger Backup is definitely the way to go. Its free, allows you to do a full backup of your posts and comments, plus later do incremental backups of newer posts.

When you first run it, it will show everything greyed out. Click the drop down arrow on the upper left "available blogs" and add/update/remove blogs.

In the window, enter your blogger id and password and click log into blogger. Your blog will appear in the upper window (if you run more than one blog they all appear). Click the OK button, and it brings you back to the main window.

Now if you click available blogs, your blog should be listed. Select it, and the greyed out areas will fill with info. Select where to save posts (I recommend creating a new empty folder on your hard drive). Don't worry about checking "overwrite existing backups" (although if you do later backups, you won't want to check this). Check "save comments" (if you want), leave the rest of the settings alone, since this is your first backup, you want "no limit get them all". (These are options for incremental backups for later on). Hit the BACKUP POSTS option and let it run. It can take a while but you should see a progress bar and the processed posts window will begin filling up. Voila!! Save the entire folder, or even zip up the files. You can then keep this, and also use the same folder to perform backups of your newer posts.

---------

You should also "export" your blog via the Blogger Dashboard. From the dashboard click the Settings tab, and then "Export", and then hit Download Blog. It will save a file to your default download folder on your hard drive. This is double insurance against losing anything.

-------------

Third, make a backup of your blog TEMPLATE. From the Dashboard, click the Layout tab, click Edit HTML, and select Download Full Template.

-------------

I would recommend making a zip file of all the individual posts you saved with bloggerbackup, stick that zip file, plus the downloaded template and exported blog file, in a folder on your hard drive.

-------------
Last but not least, for the truly paranoid (LOL) - you can also make a SECOND blog of your first blog. Using the dashboard, creat a new blog with a similar label. Like, my blog is "Sethboyardee" and my backup is "Sethboyardee2". Then import the file (that you exported earlier) and it will create a new "backup" blog for you. (but it will NOT synchronize - so in other words, if you add a new post tomorrow to this blog, it will NOT show up on the other blog. But at least it gives you triple protection against loss.

FINALLY - your pictures (if you've uploaded any) are all stored on PicasaWeb. Login with your username, and you should see an album titled the same as your blog. You can download those files and back up your pictures to your hard drive, plus leave them stored there.

------ end :)
