Its that time of the year. With every new year comes a new FAFSA form to feel out, and I'm a little late on mine. Last year time it said 12:01 on January 1 I was logged on to the site. Started feeling it out, and after we filed our taxes went back and changed it.
This year I haven't done it yet. Other things have been on my mind. But I will get to it before the month is out, but I havent figured out how I'm going to do it. Last year my mother worked two jobs to support 2 1/2 kids and only made 39,000. I also had a part time job to take care of all my expenses. You know the gas, the food, the art supplies, the school supplies, and all the shit you have pertain to senior year(prom/graduation/etc) yet I didn't qualify for the Pell Grant. We missed it by like 20 points.
A bunch of bull if you ask me. Had it been any other year I would have gotten it. Well I really need it this year. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it this year, and leaning towards claiming myself as an independent. Its basically the truth. I've basically been on my own since graduation. I'm putting myself through college and pay for all my expenses. So it shouldn't be a problem.
Guess I'll cross that bridge when the W2's come in the mail.
